Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital reinvents care for complex illness.

Lucile Packard Children's Hospital and Jump have worked side by side through a multi-year engagement to develop a new model of care.

Lucile Packard Children's Hospital

Creating world class experiences to match world class medical care.

The Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital was determined to make advances in patient experience as dramatic as those they’ve made in clinical care. The hospital’s young patients often have multiple serious conditions that require care in multiple forms delivered by multiple providers — adding complexity to an already stressful situation. For families of kids with complex illnesses, Packard Children’s saw opportunities to simplify and streamline the process of receiving care from a variety of specialists — and potentially even improve outcomes.

Partnering for long-term success.

To support this innovation, Packard Children’s turned to Jump. Together, we conducted rounds of facilitated co-creation sessions with parents, older kids, physicians, and staff to co-design new models for complex care. The team engaged with all the stakeholders involved throughout the process to see clearly what would both improve the lives of patients and their families while also being quickly adopted and consistently delivered at the hospital.

A new model that builds deep connections between providers and patients.

Packard Children’s new model of collaboration in healthcare enables stakeholders to discover unspoken needs, agree on shared goals, and transform care planning. As a result, Packard Children’s has redefined its relationship with patients and their families.
