Jay Newman

Snapshot

Jay challenges teams to explore the often ambiguous intersection of business strategy, creative teams, and design. He believes that understanding people and competitive markets are both essential when creating successful products, services, and companies. Since moving to the Bay Area, Jay has had the opportunity to work in strategy roles as a business voice with a number of highly creative teams, including at Pixar Animation Studios, at the industrial design and branding studio fuseproject, and as a student at Stanford's Design School. Jay previously worked at First Annapolis Consulting, the largest strategy consultancy focused on financial services and payments products. While there, he helped banks, retailers, and manufacturers evaluate new markets, launch new products, and enter brand partnerships. Jay split his academic pursuits between the analytical and the creative, studying marketing and music at University of Notre Dame. He holds an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. Jay loves to win competitive trivia games, a tragic obsession that requires a large encyclopedia of ways to beg for a rematch.
